The early inhabitants of this area were the first to discover the health benefits of the wild "Asphalathus Linearis" plant.
In 1904, Benjamin Ginsberg discovered that the indigenous people of the Cederberg mountains used the leaves of the Aspalatus Linearis plant to make a refreshing, aromatic tea. He bigan trading and selling this unique new tea and it became so popular, that a Rooibos Tea industry was soon established. Rooibos Tea is grown in the Clanwilliam area of the Western Cape and is considered a "gift of nature" for,although it is now culticated, it is still found growing extensively in the wild. Over the years the health benefits of this beverage have been recognised and have made Rooibos famous worldwide.

The farm is owned by the Engelbrecht a family steeped in thetraditions of tea growing.
Every stage of the processing is carefully monitored on site by the family members to ensure premium quality.
